Experienced Boater
We had a great time. I used a 40 foot boat. I did not launch this from the house but boated from Fort Myers. I would not suggest anything over 30 foot in the future. The canal is around 33 feet wide. It is not that it can’t be done, but that they will have to really watch the tides. Very good base for exploring the RMNP and the entire environment! Old cabin from the 20s, furnished in retro style with old pictures etc. New mattresses. Very well maintained and clean. Extremely helpful owner. Terrace overlooking the river. We saw a roebuck. Many birds, including Hummingbirds.
